An iconic, market-leading shoe manufacturer required a cross-linked, foamed EVA shoe in 2023 for entry into the market in October 2024. This shoe required excellent feel, softness, wear resistance, surface quality, and matching in three initial custom colors.
In addition, for this highly desired shoe, the manufacturer required a US-based compounder, using greater than 90% USA made certified materials, and it needed to be molded by a US-based manufacturer.
The selected molder turned to OTECH for the development of a 50 Asker C/1.5 expansion rate XLEVA compound. OTECH developed new OTXL4560 and OTXL5540 compounds in customer-selected Pantone® custom colors to exact specifications, with USA sourced raw materials comprising 96% of the formula.
Fully approved in August 2024, production of this new shoe will begin in December 2024, right on schedule. OTECH is now developing three new colorways for 2025 production.
